Michael Mauk is a Professor in the Department of Neuroscience and a member of the Center for Learning and Memory at UT Austin. He received his PhD in 1985 from Stanford University based on work identifying brain pathways involved in cerebellar learning. After postdoctoral training at Stanford Medical School, he joined the faculty of the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now the McGovern Medical School) in 1988. He was promoted to associate professor (1996), full professor (2001), was named the William M. Wheless III Professor of Biomedical Sciences (2004), and then moved to UT Austin in 2007.
